After 12 years, on Monday, October 5, 2026, MADBALL - the New York hardcore legend that has been around for more than 30 years - will return with a solo concert in Budapest. One of the genre’s most influential and indispensable bands will arrive with their new album, Not Your Kingdom, set for release on July 24, as the headliner of the ONLY THE HARD TOUR 2026, which debuted to massive success last year.

Madball continues to stay out of the ongoing online debate between the old school and the current hardcore-punk scene, as the band proudly represents the values of both eras. The essence of hardcore is simply part of their DNA - it’s literally in Freddy Cricien’s blood, thanks in part to his family connection to Agnostic Front’s legendary frontman, Roger Mirett. “I think blending the old and the new has always been part of what we do - whether consciously or instinctively,” says Freddy. “Not Your Kingdom achieves this, perhaps in a more personal way than any of our previous albums. In a sense, we’ve reinvented ourselves without ever losing sight of who we are.”
Cricien will be joined by two outstanding bands for the Budapest leg of their tour. One is Desolated from Southampton, one of the most influential modern bands on the British hardcore scene. The band, which burst onto the scene in the early 2010s, blends elements of New York hardcore, beatdown, metallic hardcore, and death metal into its brutal sound, making it one of the hardest-hitting European acts today. TThe opening act, Expectations, is one of the rising stars of the Bulgarian scene. With their modern metallic hardcore sound, raw energy, and heavy breakdowns, they’ve quickly become one of the most exciting new bands in the genre.
